home and wed!

well folks, the wedding day has come and gone. and i can honestly say: i want it to happen all over again. I hear lots of brides say "the day was perfect, but i am glad it is over with and i carry on with my life again"...... well that is NOT me, I feel somewhat at a loss as to what to do with my free time. I miss the crafting, the dreaming, the stitching, the watercolours, everything! i miss it!
stay posted for some wedding day pics!
i can't wait to share all the little details with you, equipped with explanations and wedding day stories!

Bloom!

Alright, so the wedding is a mear 15 days away! 15 days away, and I had the nerve to ask my wonderful florist if it's too late to change the flowers for the wedding! I know, I'm crazy. Turns out, it's not too late! My florist is Megan from Bloom in Winkler! She is absolutely amazing. Honestly, she is the most friendly, personable lady! I highly recommend going to her adorable little shop, it is so bright and airy, definitely refreshing. Check out her website here.

The inspiration for the new flowers is this:

today, i love my life.

today's post is very scatter-brained and all over the place!
but basically the idea is.....
today, i love my life!

i love painting! especially when i can paint things for a certain space. i recently created this painting for our living room to bring out the yellow and greens in our cushions. i'll post a picture of it actually on the wall soon.

i love wedding crafting! i mean, i LOVE it!
crafting all these thing for my wedding makes me want to be a wedding planner, so i always have an excuse/reason to craft!

Ryan and I are SOOOO extremely thankful for all the shower gifts we have received.
Seriously, we had NOTHING for the kitchen when i moved in here, and now we have so much!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
this wrapping job is my absolute favourite, makes me smile everytime i see this picture!

i love thrift shopping, especially at MCC.
the next few photos are my purchases from today!
ok, i always see this for sale at home stores, and in people's houses, but....
what are they for exactly? even though i dont know their purpose, i love them!

i am soooo pleased with this find! 4 pastel, surprisingly modern and cute mugs!
i LOVE how they stack!

these super thrifty and hip new shoes!

okay, so i got this last week, but i love it so much.

I also love.....
having an incredibly handsome fiance that works at Starbucks.
and i love it when he comes with lot of goodies!

Another thing i love: morning visits with good friends, filled with sharing,
gift giving, baby cuddling and tea!
I especially love when my visitor drops off a BEAUTIFUL picnic basket
for our wedding! I think this one will be the bride and groom "head table"
it folds out like a table! how neat!

Lastly, I love life because I am getting married in....

burlap invitations!

Allright friends! Here are some photos of our LOVELY invitations! We are super duper excited about them! The whole time we were making them, I was just beaming!

The picture and map are drawn by me and and then our good friend, Jadyn Klassen coloured them in and edited them on the computer. We bought 400ft of burlap (mostly for decorating on the wedding day) but wanted to use them for the invitations too! My dad cut out all the burlap pieces, my mom sewed on the buttons and sewed up the pouches, while Ryan and I "tied all the knots" to join them together!
A HUGE thankyou to Jadyn, my mom and dad, and Randall and Kim for letting us use their corner rounder!

We bought all buttons from MCC for 20 cents!!

The string you see tying the invitations together is actually strips of burlap! We were going to buy hemp and use that, but then discovered the burlap frays so easily, so we were EXTRA resourceful and just stripped pieces of burlap to get the strings!

All the photos are done by my lovely fiance, Ryan Bergen!

love!!

treasures

Here are some of my latest joys in wedding planning, hopefully this gives you just a TASTE of what the wedding will be like!

vintage dishes from MCC!
Since our wedding is entirely outdoors and a picnic (yes, a PICNIC!) we had to decide if we wanted to rent dishes or just use paper dishes. Since renting can get quite expensive, and paper dishes are not environmentally friendly, we decided to buy vintage dishes from the local thrift stores! At 10-20 cents a plate this is a very affordable solution, that looks super cute and fits our vintage themed picnic perfectly! So far, we have 75 and need about 75 more, so if you find some, let me know!!

 wedding party dresses!
Here are just 4 of the 6 dresses the girls will be wearing (if you did the math, that makes a wedding party of 12! 14 including me and Ryan!) Our aim with the wedding party was to not feel limited to size. We see it as a bunch of awsome friends, that we want to be part of our day. All the dresses are totally different, except for one thing: they all have a small floral print with a pastel colour scheme. All purchased of Mod Cloth.

fabric triangles!
This is one of my favourite design ideas: fabric triangle streamers. These streamers will be hung all over the yard, creating a whimzical environment, mmmmmmm love! All the fabric came in roles, big and small, for an average of 10 cents a role! You guessed it, the local MCC!

Hope you enjoyed the taste of what's to come!
Feel free to leave a comment, I'd love to know who's reading!
